The Little Red Hen lives near a grain yard.She walks around and looks for worms every day.小紅母雞住在一個(gè)谷場里，整天都到處走來走去，在各個(gè)地方找蟲子吃。

One day,she finds a seed—a wheat seed.She has never seen such a“worm”.She tastes but finds it is different from the worms.She is a little puzzled.一天，小紅母雞發(fā)現(xiàn)了一粒種子——小麥種子。她以前從來沒有見過這樣的“蟲子”。于是，她輕輕地啄了它一下，發(fā)現(xiàn)它的味道和蟲子一點(diǎn)都不一樣，她感到很疑惑。

She takes it to others and learns it is a wheat seed.If it is planted,it will grow.And then it can be ground into flour and then it can be made into bread.于是小紅母雞拿著它請教別人，得知這是小麥種子。如果種下它，它還會(huì)成長，當(dāng)它成熟以后可以磨成面粉，做成面包。

After the Little Red Hen knows all,she believes it should be grown.But she is busy seeking food for his children.She will not have time to plant it.當(dāng)小紅母雞了解了這一切，她覺得應(yīng)該種下這個(gè)東西?？墒瞧綍r(shí)她要給自己和孩子們找食物，太忙了。她沒有時(shí)間種這粒小麥。

The Little Red Hen asks,“Who will plant this wheat?”The dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey say,“I won’t.”“Then I will.”says the Little Red Hen.“Cluck!Cluck!”小紅母雞問道：“誰愿意種這粒小麥?”狗、貓、豬、火雞都說：“我不種?！薄澳俏易约悍N?！毙〖t母雞說，“克拉克！克拉克！”

So she planted the grain of wheat.Very soon the wheat began to grow and the green leaves came out of the field.The Little Red Hen is very glad to see it.小紅母雞把那粒小麥種好了。很快，麥子破土而出，冒出了綠芽。小紅母雞看到這一切非常開心。

The sun shone and the rain fell and soon the wheat kept on growing until it was tall,strong,and ripe.The Little Red Hen is happy to think of the good harvest.陽光的照射，雨水的澆灌，麥子長得又高又壯，漸漸成熟了。小紅母雞一想到收成不錯(cuò)，開心極了。

The Little Red Hen asks,“Who will reap this wheat?”The dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey says,“I won’t.”They shake their heads as they say so.小紅母雞又問大家：“誰愿意收麥子？”狗、貓、豬和火雞都說：“我不收。”他們一邊搖頭一邊說。

The Little Red Hen says,“I will,then.Cluck!Cluck!”So she reaped the wheat.She is so tired,but she is happy to see the wheat.小紅母雞說，“那我去收?？死耍】死?！”于是她把小麥?zhǔn)崭盍?。小紅母雞累極了，但是看見這些小麥，她很開心。

The Little Red Hen asks,“Who will thresh this wheat?”“I won’t.”says the dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey，shaking their hands.小紅母雞又問：“誰愿意打麥子？”狗、貓、豬和火雞邊揮手邊說：“我不打?！?/p>

“I will,then,”says the Little Red Hen.“Cluck!Cluck!”So she threshed the wheat.The Little Red Hen is covered with sweat，but she is smiling happily.“那我去打。”小紅母雞說。“克拉克！克拉克！”小紅母雞把麥子打好了。小紅母雞累得滿頭大汗，但是她開心地笑了。

The Little Red Hen asks anxiously,“Who will take this wheat to the mill to have it ground?”The dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey say,“I won’t.”They go to play games with the words.小紅母雞著急地問道：“誰愿把小麥拿到磨房去磨？”狗、貓、豬和火雞都說：“我不去。”說完這些話，他們就去玩游戲了。

The Little Red Hen says,“I will,then.Cluck!Cluck! ”So she took the wheat to the mill.It’s getting dark when she came back with the flour.She hurries to look after her children.“那我去。”小紅母雞說?！翱死?！克拉克！”于是，她把小麥背去磨了。夜色降臨了，小紅母雞把面粉背了回來。她又匆忙地去照顧她的孩子們。

The Little Red Hen asks anxiously,“Who will bake this flour?”The dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey say,“I won’t.We are playing hide-and-seek now.”小紅母雞又問：“誰愿意烤面包？”狗、貓、豬和火雞都說：“我不烤，我們正在玩捉迷藏的游戲?！?/p>

The Little Red Hen says,“I will,then.”“Cluck!Cluck!”So she bakes the flour and makes a loaf of bread.When she finishes,it is dark outside.But she doesn’t feel tired.小紅母雞說：“那我去烤?？死?！克拉克！”她把面粉烤熟了，做了一條面包。當(dāng)她做完這一切，天已經(jīng)黑了。但是，她一點(diǎn)都不感到累。

The Little Red Hen asks,“Who will eat this bread?”The dog,the cat,the pig and the turkey say,“I will.”They all reach out their hands to the bread.小紅母雞又問：“誰來吃面包呀？”狗、貓、豬和火雞都說：“我要吃?！彼麄兌及焉焓秩ツ妹姘?。

The Little Red Hen says,“No,my children and I will.Cluck!Cluck!Remember!No pains,no gains!”And she starts to eat the loaf of bread with her children.The Little Red Hen is so happy to do such for her children.小紅母雞說：“不行，我和我的孩子們吃?？死耍】死?！記住!一分耕耘，一分收獲！”她和孩子們開始吃面包。小紅母雞很高興為孩子們做的這一切。

一分耕耘，一分收獲。
