金婚，普遍定義為夫妻結(jié)婚50周年的紀(jì)念日。這個(gè)來自于國(guó)外的名詞，是用具體的物品名稱來定義婚齡。從字面上可以輕松的理解金婚的含義，夫妻共度50年婚姻生活，可以說是像金子一樣彌足珍貴的。我們的父輩們，如果是按國(guó)家法定年齡結(jié)婚，那么能過上金婚的，摒除其他原因，至少兩人要健康活到75歲左右，這樣也實(shí)屬難能可貴了。

過去，人們對(duì)金婚是一種奢望的企盼，因?yàn)楫?dāng)時(shí)的生活水平、醫(yī)療保健水平、文化素質(zhì)與現(xiàn)在大為不同。人至七十古來稀，說的就是這種現(xiàn)象。而現(xiàn)在，隨著各方面生存基本條件的極大改善，許許多多的人們已經(jīng)在享受著金婚的美譽(yù)。其實(shí)，中國(guó)對(duì)婚姻原本并沒有具體命名紀(jì)念，不過對(duì)于“白首偕老”和“百年好合”的美滿婚姻卻是虔誠(chéng)祝愿。

在新婚之日常會(huì)聽到賓朋們送上“白首偕老”、“百年好合”的祝福。白首偕老，也可以說是白頭偕老。在明·陸采《懷香記·奉詔班師》中記載著:“孩兒，我與你母親白頭偕老，寶貴雙全。”指夫妻相親相愛，共同生活一輩子，用來頌揚(yáng)愛情專一、忠貞不渝的夫妻生活。

白首偕老和百年好合中的“白首”和“百年”與金婚定義的50年相比，有過之而無不及，都反映了人們對(duì)“執(zhí)子之手，與子偕老”的美滿婚姻的追求和向往。

也正是這種美好的期望，中國(guó)人對(duì)來自國(guó)外的“金婚”、“銀婚”這些紀(jì)念婚姻的名詞愉快的接受，并根據(jù)國(guó)情，創(chuàng)造了獨(dú)具中國(guó)風(fēng)格的紀(jì)念日名稱。如下:

中國(guó)對(duì)婚齡的說法:

1年紙婚;2年棉婚;3年皮婚;4年花果婚;5年木婚;6年糖婚;7年手婚; 8年古銅婚;9年陶器婚;10年錫婚;11年鋼婚;12年絲婚;13年花邊婚; 14年象牙婚;15年水晶婚;20年瓷婚;25年銀婚;30年珍珠婚;35年珊瑚婚;40年紅寶石婚;45年藍(lán)寶石婚;50年金婚;55年綠寶石婚;60年金鋼鉆婚;70年白金婚;80年鉆石婚。

簡(jiǎn)單地從婚齡代表物上可以很容易的領(lǐng)會(huì)人們對(duì)婚齡的看法。如結(jié)婚第1年是紙婚，就是說最初結(jié)合薄如紙;皮婚，說明婚姻開始有點(diǎn)韌性;木婚，是說婚姻已經(jīng)硬化起來了;陶器婚，如陶器堅(jiān)硬美麗;錫婚，錫器柔韌，不易跌破;鋼婚，不會(huì)生銹，還比銅鐵堅(jiān)硬;絲婚，緊緊地纏住了;花邊婚，不但堅(jiān)韌，并且很美;象牙婚，時(shí)間越久，越晶透美麗;水晶婚，透明晶澈而光采奪目;瓷婚，光滑無瑕，但也易碎;銀婚，已有恒久價(jià)值，是婚后第一個(gè)大慶典;珍珠婚，像珍珠般的渾圓、珍貴，使人艷羨;珊珊婚，嫣紅而寶貴，更為生色;紅寶石婚，名貴難得;藍(lán)寶石婚，比紅寶石更名貴、更值錢;金婚，這是夫婦的第二個(gè)大慶典，通常都已兒孫滿堂，一起慶祝，比銀婚盛大多了;至于白金婚、鉆石婚，可以說是人生中極其珍貴稀罕的，亦為夫婦間最隆重的慶典，但是真正能慶祝這兩個(gè)婚典的人是鳳毛麟角。

中國(guó)對(duì)這些婚齡紀(jì)念日透出了濃厚的熱情，問一對(duì)鬢發(fā)蒼蒼的老夫妻是如何經(jīng)營(yíng)婚姻完美的度過金婚?他們呵呵憨笑，身體健康、互相包容就是秘訣。這應(yīng)該是放之四海而皆準(zhǔn)的婚姻秘訣吧。

國(guó)外也不例外。結(jié)婚紀(jì)念日在全世界范圍內(nèi)走俏，許多民族因?yàn)橹匾暬橐雠e行名目繁多的結(jié)婚紀(jì)念活動(dòng)，就是為了通過這些紀(jì)念活動(dòng)來促進(jìn)夫妻和睦，加深感情，這些慶?；顒?dòng)逐漸成為一種風(fēng)俗。

例如，美國(guó)人會(huì)舉行結(jié)婚周年紀(jì)念會(huì)，并逐漸形成了按每次結(jié)婚紀(jì)念活動(dòng)贈(zèng)送傳統(tǒng)規(guī)定的禮物的習(xí)俗，進(jìn)而又演化成為各種禮物名稱來命名每個(gè)婚齡的習(xí)慣。這便是美國(guó)結(jié)婚紀(jì)念日的由來。

不過美國(guó)結(jié)婚紀(jì)念日的說法與中國(guó)相比略有不同。

結(jié)婚1年是紙婚;2年是布婚;3年是皮婚;4年是絲婚;5年是木婚;6年是鐵婚;7年是銅婚;8年是電婚;9年是陶婚;10年是錫婚;11年是鋼婚;12年是亞麻婚;13年是花邊婚;14年是象牙婚;15年是水晶婚;20年是瓷婚;25年是銀婚;30年是珍珠婚;35年是玉婚;40年是紅寶石婚;45年是藍(lán)寶石婚;50年是金婚;60年是鉆石婚。

可見結(jié)婚越久，代表的東西越有硬度，象征著歷久彌“珍”的婚姻。但實(shí)際上，人們慶祝得最多的和最隆重的就是“銀婚”和“金婚”，慶祝時(shí)要邀請(qǐng)親朋好友來參加宴會(huì)和周年紀(jì)念會(huì)，一般是晚輩組織慶祝活動(dòng)，一方面慶祝父母百年好合的美滿婚姻，一方面感謝父母的養(yǎng)育之恩。

法國(guó)、英國(guó)、俄國(guó)、日本、朝鮮等國(guó)家也有用各種物品來命名每個(gè)婚齡的習(xí)俗，除了名字不同外，其他基本無異。

朝鮮比較特殊。朝鮮夫妻結(jié)婚60周年稱為“四婚”，人們要舉行慶?；顒?dòng)。紀(jì)念日那天，夫妻要穿上當(dāng)初結(jié)婚時(shí)穿的漂亮服裝，坐在褥墊上，品嘗著豐盛的酒食菜肴，接受子孫和親友們的祝賀。晚輩要按輩分的高低先后為老人敬酒。親朋好友、左鄰右舍也攜禮來祝賀。主人宴請(qǐng)來客，人們載歌載舞，慶?；顒?dòng)十分熱鬧。

Golden Wedding

The TV show Golden Wedding—the 50th anniversary of a wedding— makes the term “golden wedding”， originating from the west， known to many Chinese people.

In China， there is neither festival nor defined date to commemorate weddings. However， there are many Chinese idioms， such as “Bai Tou Xie Lao”— live together to a ripe old age and “Bai Nian Hao He”— life-long happiness and perfect harmony， which show people’s anticipation of good marriages. On the wedding day， the guests always say such words to express their good wishes for the marriage of the bride and bridegroom.

Out of their anticipation of good marriages， the Chinese people have accepted the western terms that are used to commemorate the marriage， such as “golden wedding” and “silver wedding.” Moreover， according to the Chinese culture， the Chinese people have created many terms to commemorate the anniversaries of the weddings: paper wedding for the first anniversary， cotton wedding for the second anniversary， leather wedding for the third anniversary， flower and fruit wedding for the fourth anniversary， wooden wedding for the fifth anniversary， candy wedding for the sixth anniversary， copper wedding for the seventh anniversary， bronze wedding for the eighth anniversary， pottery wedding for the ninth anniversary， tin wedding for the 10th anniversary， steel wedding for the 11th anniversary， silk marriage for the 12th anniversary， lace marriage for the 13th anniversary， ivory wedding for the 14th anniversary， crystal wedding for the 15th anniversary， china wedding for the 20th anniversary， silver wedding for the 25th anniversary， pearl wedding for the 30th anniversary， coral wedding for the 35th anniversary， ruby wedding for the 40th anniversary， sapphire wedding for the 45th anniversary， gold wedding for the 50th anniversary， emerald wedding for the 55th anniversary， diamond wedding for the 60th anniversary， platinum wedding for the 70th anniversary and oak wedding for the 80th anniversary.

The longer the marriage lasts， the harder the thing representing marriage is. In fact， “gold marriage” and “silver marriage” are two anniversaries most frequently and most formally celebrated by people. When the celebrations are held， many friends and family members are invited to participate in the party. The children are usually responsible for organizing the party.

Wedding anniversary parties are popular worldwide. Many nations have diversified activities to commemorate the anniversaries of marriages， which have been turned into folk customs.
