《新約·馬太福音》里與綿羊有關(guān)的另一個說法是sheep having/with no shepherd‘沒有羊倌的綿羊’。據(jù)說，耶穌到各處傳播福音、為人治病時，“看見蕓蕓眾生，對他們深感慈悲，因為他們迷茫而無助”，就像沒有羊倌的羊(But when he saw the multitudes，he was moved with compassion on them. because they fainted，and were scattered abroad，as sheep having no shepherd.Matthew 9:36)。漢語與之相近的說法是“群龍無首”，但龍和羊代表的形象不同，龍代表強者，羊代表弱者。不過，不論強弱，只要形成一個群體，都需要領(lǐng)袖的帶領(lǐng)，這一點是共同的。
