Mary: Oh my god! Have you seen Wendy!

Samantha: I'll give you some sympathy tomorrow. Now put on this aftersun lotion and here's my hat and sunglasses. Now get out of the sun and sit in the shade, you idiot!

Mary: Typical Wendy. She never uses any common sense. Look here's her sunblock it just has a SPF of 15 and this brand hardly protects you from any UV-A.

Samantha: You'd think in this day and age people would be more careful. Sheeesh. Hey, do you have any of that water-resistant sunblock? I'm going for a swim to cool down.

Mary: Sure. Use this, it's great stuff. It's zinc based and don't worry, it's broad-spectrum, you're really well protected from both UV-A and UV-B rays.

Samantha: Zinc? So I'm going to be totally covered in that white residue.

Mary: Hey, you wanted great protection, right? So what's a little white stuff compared to your health.

Samantha: I know, it's not that. This is a new swimsuit, and I don't want any stains.

Mary: Come on. This is me you're talking to, fashion queen of the beach. I have no peers, remember. You think I would use a sunscreen lotion that would stain my clothes. Please, get real.

Samantha (laughing): Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks, see you in a bit.

Mary: Hi. How's your skin feeling?

Wendy: If I stay completely still it's OK. Why did this have to happen to me? I used protection.

Mary: You're kidding, right? You only used a factor 15. That's way too low for today. You should have used at least a 40.

Wendy: I just wanted a good tan. I figured the higher factors would block too much of the sun's rays. Anyway shouldn't it have lasted longer I wasn't in the sun that long.

Mary: OK Wendy, listen up. You're meant to put it on regularly at least every two hours. Also you went for a swim, right?

Wendy: We are at the beach, you know.

Mary: Funny. You won't find it so amusing tonight when you're trying to sleep. Look, the sea washes it off if you're not wearing a water resistant brand which yours wasn't. Next time, after a swim put some more on, OK?

Wendy: No problem. I never want to feel like this again. Argh, my skin's peeling. (crying)

Mary: Hey, it will be OK. Come on, I'll put some more aftersun on. It should ease the pain.
