RWTH Aachen has collaborated with Qinghua University to offer a dual masters degree program in both mechanical engineering and automobile engineering. The best graduates with a bachelors degree will be sent to each others campuses for a one-year program. They will have a dual degree if they pass the graduation examination. The students in this program use English in both Qinghua and RWTH Aachen. These students are popular with businesses in China and Germany. Similar programs are also jointly offered in partnerships between RWTH Aachen and China University of Science and between RWTH Aachen and Technology and Shanghai Tongji University. RWTH Aachen now has a blueprint for its future development. Experts at RWTH Aachen are planning to build an ambitious research and development project in an area of 550,000 square meters close to the campus. The new R&D; park will host 19 cooperation programs between RWTH Aachen University and industry. The programs aim to promote closer cooperation and exchanges.
