招貼語又稱揭示語，具有言簡意賅、表達形式多樣等特點，能起到標示和警示、促進社會文明等作用。隨著我國對外開放的不斷深入和與國外交流的日益增多，英語招貼語隨處可見。日常生活中常見的英語招貼語涵蓋面廣，內容豐富，大致可分為社會公德與文明勸導招貼語、辦公與服務標示招貼語、交通警示招貼語以及物品包裝和使用說明招貼語等。
