在英語中,“提建議”的表達方式有多種,現(xiàn)就常見的用法總結(jié)如下:
1.用“Why not+動詞原形?” 或“Why dont we/you+動詞原形?” 提出看法,征求對方意見,表示“你/我們?yōu)槭裁床弧???例如:
Why not take a chance on it? 為何不冒險試一試這件事?
Why not make your dress instead of buying it?
為什么不做衣服,而要去買呢?
Why dont you come and sit next to me?
你為什么不來緊挨著我坐呢?
Why dont we go and ask our teacher for help?

2.“What/How about+名詞或動名詞”提出建議,表示“……怎么樣?” ,“……好嗎?”或“……行不行?”about是介詞,后跟名詞、代詞或動詞的-ing形式。例如:
What about a cup of water? 喝杯水,好嗎?
——How about having a cup of coffee with me?
和我一起喝杯咖啡好嗎?
——All right. 好的。
What about going out for a meal? 出去吃飯,好嗎?
What about asking them to dinner on Friday evening?
星期五晚上請他們吃飯,你看呢?
3.用“l(fā)ets…”提出自己的建議,表示“讓我們做……”;Lets后接動詞原形。例如:
Lets go and have a picnic this Sunday. 這個星期天我們?nèi)ヒ安桶伞?/p>
Lets do it together. 我們一起做吧。
——Lets go and buy some vegetables, shall we?

4.用“Youd better…”表示委婉的建議,意為“你最好……”。Youd better后接動詞原形,其否定式為Youd better not do sth., 意為“你最好不要做……”。例如:
Youd better get everything ready ahead of time.
你最好提前把一切都準備好。
Its cold outside. Youd better put on your coat.
外面很冷,你最好穿上外套。
Youd better not tell him about it. 你最好不要把這件事告訴他。
5.用“Shall we/I+動詞原形?” 建議對方和自己共同做某事,語氣比較委婉,表示“我們/我……好嗎? ” 。例如:
——Shall we go and see a film tonight? 我們今晚去看電影好嗎?
——Good idea. 好主意。
Shall I open the window? 我打開窗戶好嗎?
6.用“Will/Would you please+動詞原形”來提出看法, 表示“請你……好嗎?”。例如:
Would you please help me with my English? 你幫我學英語,好嗎?
Will you please speak more loudly? 請你再大點聲說,好嗎?
7.用“Would you like+名詞或動詞不定式”向?qū)Ψ教岢鲅埢蚪ㄗh,表示“你想要……嗎?”語氣比較委婉。例如:
Would you like a cup of coffee? 你想喝一杯咖啡嗎?
Would you like something to eat? 你要來點吃的嗎?
——Would you like to go with us? 你愿意和我們一起去嗎?
——Id love to, but Im afraid I cant. 我很想去,但恐怕去不成。
8.用You should/shouldnt do sth. 也可直接建議對方做或不做某事,含有比較強的主觀意味。例如:
You should have a good rest and drink more water.
你應該好好休息,多喝水。
You should tell your parents before you go and meet an Internet friend. 你去見網(wǎng)友前應該告訴你的父母。
