As Bangladesh cel-ebrated its 37thanniversary ofIndependence andNational Day on March 26,Chinas Foreign Trade inter-viewed H. E. Mr. Munshi FaizAhmad, Ambassador Extraor-dinary and Plenipotentiary ofBangladesh to the Peoples Re-public of China. “Bangladeshand China enjoy traditionalfriendship for a long time. Forexample, Xuan Zang (the Chi-nese Buddhist monk famousfor his ‘Journey to the Westduring the Tang dynasty) andAdmiral Zheng He (the greatChinese navigator from theMing dynasty) visited Ben-gal in their respective times.Building on this tradition, ourfriendship is manifest in everysphere of our cooperation,” sosaid Mr. Ahmad, a kind manwith a bright smile, at the out-set of our interview. Just likefriends, we spent a happy af-terooon with the Ambassadorover a cup of Bangladeshi tea.
