一、prefer to do sth= would rather do sth更喜歡做某事，寧愿做某事。

例如: I’d like to stay at home ， but Max prefers toplay(play) football on Sundays.

= I’d like to stay at home ， but Max would ratherplay(play) football on Sundays.

注意點(diǎn)：1. prefer to do sth 不僅有人稱變換，第三人稱形式是prefers to do sth ， 而且還有時(shí)態(tài)變化， 過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài)為preferred to do sth。

2. would rather既無(wú)人稱變化，也無(wú)時(shí)態(tài)變化。

二、prefer to do sth rather than do sth=prefer doing sth to(doing) sth =would rather do sth than do sth 即prefer A to B， “比起B(yǎng)來(lái)更喜歡A”，其中to是介詞。

例如:All students prefer to take the bus rather than walk.

= All students prefer taking the bus to walking.

=All students would rather take the bus than walk.
