Overseas banks are quickening network expansion in China with players like HSBC，Standard Chartered and BEA posting branch plans in late September.

Standard Chartered Bank (China) Ltd. said on September 21 it has receivedapproval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to establish its Hangzhou branch asits first foray in Zhejiang Province.

China Takes Measures to Support Dairy Industry

China announced measures on September 23 to support dairyindustry as 30% milk cow raiserssuffered losses in 2006，

The raising cost of milk cow hasincreased sharply since 2006. The costof feed has increased by 30%; cost ofhuman labor has doubled; and expensesin quarantine， transport and water andpower have alsoincreased todifferent extents.
