There was an old man who kept a group of monkeys. Every day he fed each monkey four chestnuts (栗子)for breakfast and another four for supper.
從前有個(gè)老人養(yǎng)了一群猴子。他每天給每只猴子四顆栗子作早餐,四顆栗子作晚餐。
Afterawhile,the old man couldn’t afford(提供)it any more.So he asked the monkeys,“can I feed you only three chestnuts in the morning and four at night ?”
經(jīng)過一段時(shí)間,老人再也負(fù)擔(dān)不起了。于是他問猴子:“我早上給你們?nèi)w栗子晚上給你們四顆栗子,可以嗎?”
The monkeys were not happy.They jumped up and down in anger.
猴子們聽了很不高興,它們生氣地跳來跳去。
“Then how ahout four chestnuts in the morning and three at night?”the old man asked.
“那早上四顆晚上三顆怎么樣???”老人問道。
The monkeys were so happy to get four chestnuts for breakfast.But they did not realise that they had been tricked(欺騙)to accept three chestnuts in the night.
猴子們見能得到四顆栗子作早餐都很高興。但是它們沒有意識(shí)到晚上只能得到三顆栗子,它們被欺騙了。
