        English is the national language and the language of communication between people. To some extent, English and other languages have the same characteristics, independent grammar system, phonetic system and so on. In junior high school English teaching, it is very important and we must pay attention to the cultivation of students' independent learning ability, which helps to improve the level of comprehensive quality. Based on this, this paper expounds the significance of the cultivation of middle school students' autonomous learning ability in middle school English teaching, and puts forward the key methods for the cultivation of middle school students' autonomous learning ability, hoping to provide feasible reference Suggestions for the cultivation of middle school students' autonomous learning ability in the new period of middle school English teaching.

        Students' interest in learning

        During the current teaching period, cultivating students' autonomous learning ability can effectively improve their English learning level and stimulate their interest in learning. In a sense, interest plays a very important role in English learning. Only when students improve their interest can they take an active part in daily English learning. In the process of English learning in junior middle school, teachers teach less content in the traditional teaching mode, and train less in language application and communication. If we want to cultivate students' autonomous learning ability, we need to train students' interests. Therefore, junior middle school English teaching should update its teaching mode and change its teaching philosophy to provide effective guarantee for cultivating students' autonomous ability.
