The MSc Property Appraisal and Management (International) is a one-year fast-track conversion course specifically designed for Chinese students and which leads to an English professional qualification in property management and development. The course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors， an English professional body recognised all over the world for quality and integrity. There are many international surveying firms based in China who recognise and value the RICS qualification and are looking for RICS qualified Chinese property managers with UK experience who can work in the world of property management， valuation and development. We have links with such global property management firms as DTZ Debenham Tie Leung， Colliers International， CBRE， Jones Lang La Salle， Cushman Wakefield， Knight Frank and Savills.

A dissertation on a property-related topic is required for the Masters qualification.

The course has grown out of MSc Property Appraisal (UK) - a course with a high reputation in the UK and an excellent employment record for its graduates who obtain employment with major surveying companies as well as smaller independent firms， local government and the civil service. The course is also well respected by surveyors' firms in Shanghai where our English students undertake a development project in collaboration with international surveying companies with offices there. We have recruited Chinese students in the past who are now working with major international property companies (DTZ， Cushman Wakefield) so we decided to set up a special version of the course catering to the Chinese market and the special needs of Chinese students.We have also set up equivalent courses in Poland and the Czech Republic catering to eastern European students.

Sheffield Hallam University has a large surveying school which has been running RICS accredited courses for over 40 years. The surveying school achieved a high score from QAA and includes professors who have written key textbooks for surveying students and who are active in research and continuing professional development. The University is among the highest-ranking UK Universities in respect of the quality of education and support for international students. There is an International Student Support Team which provides pre-arrival advice and information， an online mentoring scheme and an orientation programme. There is also a University English Scheme which offers a range of English classes at all levels and provides the English module within PAM International which is specifically tailored to the needs of international surveying students.

﹡A good first degree in any discipline.

﹡6.5 IELTS (we provide a summer course for those not quite up to the 6.5 standard).

﹡Work experience in a property company is an advantage but not essential. We recommend that prospective students try to find a short internment with a surveying firm with RICS members (such as the ones listed above).
